Vanilla Shortbread - from Gordon Ramsey

This is a lovely recipe, and our recipe is similar. Our recipe includes simpler ingredients, and its really easy to whip up for an afternoon tea. It is lovely at Christmas, but its also great for anytime! Making shortbread in a pie plate, and poking holes seems to be a very traditional Scottish recipe. We also have a different variation including brown sugar, in our Wind in the Willows Art & Baking Unit Study, that I know you will enjoy too! Stay tuned for that coming Mid April, 2021!

I love how Darren McGrady talks about the Queen and Duke, spending time up at the Castle in Scotland. This is really inspiring me for our next Adventures in Scotland… Stay tuned for the next series in Scotland, as i am completing it as we speak. I am so excited about it, and it has been in the works for 4+ years as well!

This recipe is perfect to also enjoy while learning about Scotland, and as we pair more recipes into our Great Britain Series, you may find a blend from recipes in England, and Scotland. I absolutely love how talks about the wooden thistle mold, and the special ingredients she using to make this shortbread extra lovely.
