Art Project: Clay Nest Art

A Trumpeter Swan makes their nest on the ground. You can also make a clay nest like a trumpeter swan by following the instruction below.

Steps:
Knead clay until smooth, and then create a pinch pot. Begin by rolling a ball. Tap the bottom of it on the table to make it flat, then place your thumb in the center, and gently pinch in and turn the ball around and around until you have pinched and pushed your thumb into your clay to make a pot. Next, take your fork and add texture to the outside of your clay, with a criss cross pattern to make it look like sticks and twigs. Roll balls of clay for eggs, and place them inside. This is the shape of a hummingbirds nest. Use this nest to inspire you to make more nests, larger, or smaller.
