The Shamrock is a symbol of Saint Patrick's Day, and also the Irish culture for thousands of years, and according to legend, it was first coined by Saint Patrick and refers to the Holy Trinity; the father, the son and the holy spirit. The three lobes of the shamrock have also been associated with faith, hope and love. The word 'shamrock' comes from the Gaelic word 'Seamrog' which means “little clover.” It is also commonly associated with the Clover leaf.

The Clover plant usually has three leaflets, but can occasionally have four. These four-leaf clovers are rare and considered lucky. Have you ever found a four-leaf clover before?

There is a saying, "To be in clover" and it means to live a carefree life of ease, comfort or prosperity. While creating our Shamrock Art today, let's keep in mind all the positive thoughts that this special plant represents. Our Life Cycle of a Clover goes perfectly with this lesson, and art projects. We have included that Unit Study within this version for you to enjoy!

We have 3 Art Projects included in this lesson, and here are some videos to help give you inspiration on how to do the 3 Art Techniques along with our Printables included in our PDF of the Adventures in Ireland 2.
