Painting the Town: An Adventure in France by Disney's Small World Library
Use the following art appreciation included in our unit study, featuring scenes from around Paris as your inspiration, then take a walk through your village, town, or city and draw sketches.
Once you have your main locations mapped out, go back over the next month and create paintings of your chosen locations. You could also take photos of your proposed landscape scene. You could choose 4 locations and go once per week to complete your series. Alternatively, you could go once a month, for a few months to see your town in different seasons and colors.
Supplies Needed:
Paper
Pencil
Eraser
Canvas board, or framed or pastel paper
Markers, soft pastels, watercolors, acyrlic paint
*Note: This art concept is very easy to adjust for different ages and abilities and it's best to allow your student to choose their medium if they desire it, or you can choose for them to make things easier for you in planning this out.
