December 22 Christmas in Ireland!
On Christmas Eve, the Irish will put out a candle in the window to help light the way of Mary and Joseph, and any other travellers who might happen by. They may also leave out milk and bread on the table and leave their doors unlocked to accommodate those in time of need.
