I am so excited to add a new Christmas Special to our curriculum series collection, and I hope you enjoy studying this one as much as I did writing it. I actually created it after looking into visiting Finland for a family vacation, and I was so excited, I dove right into writing this unit for us and you to enjoy. It's perfect to do at home in place of a vacation, or really great to enjoy before your visit to get the kids really pumped.

Finnish Christmas Ornament Craft: Himmeli
The himmeli is a traditional Finnish holiday decoration made out of straw, They were made for Winter Solstice and kept up until Midsummer. They are made with 12 fragments symbolizing the 12 months of the year and are are made for good luck, home protection and most importantly, for a good harvest next year. Let's make our own today!

We have three recipes included in our study, and wanted to included videos on how to make them for those are are more visual learners like me! What i have found is that these traditional recipes may have some variations, so start your experiments with these, and enjoy!
