Art Project: Paper Plate Dream Catcher
Supplies Needed:
Paper plate, scissors, hole punch, Embroidery thread, or yarn
Pony beads, Feathers + tape
Cut out a circle in the center of your paper plate, leaving an inch of the bottom of the plate before the lip of the rim of the plate, creating a frame for your holes to be punched into. Color the trim of your plate. Perhaps you could use your drawings to tell a story. Take your hole punch and punch 11-14 holes all along the frame of the plate. Take your thread or yarn, and tape them to the back of your dream catcher. Poke your thread through one of the holes, and weave your thread around and through the holes. (Scan QR Code to watch the video for the exact method.)Tape the end to the back and cut the remaining thread. Punch a hole at the top, and three holes at the bottom. Bunch three feathers together, and wrap your tape around them, and a string of yarn.Make three strings with feathers. Thread your pony beads onto each thread, and the feathers will stop the beads from falling off. Tie each thread with beads and feathers onto your dream catcher, through the three holes you punched, one string for each hole. Finish off with any additional coloring, glue, and glitter, or whatever you would like to add.
