Next, when you have toad all cut out, place the frame of him over top of your colorful paper. Next, flip your paper over, and use your glue stick to coat the back side of the paper, and flip over, and place corner to corner over top of the colored paper. 2nd Style: Cut out Toad's silhouette completely, and place it on top of your art paper and trace the shape with your pencil. Take your brush, and dip it in the water and get the inside of your toad's shape all wet. Be careful not to get water outside of the line. Next, choose your first color of watercolor paint for your toad. Your watercolor paint will drop into the water that you put on your paper first, and make pretty markings. You can blend your colors in this wet area. Continue to paint in your toad, let dry then using a black marker trace the outline. Scan the QR Code for Video Inspiration.

In the Kitchen: Make Toad in the Hole:

Toad in the Hole is a traditional English dish consisting of sausages in Yorkshire pudding batter, usually served with onion gravy and vegetables. Historically, the dish has also been prepared using other meats, such as rump steak and lamb's kidney. It was first seen in print, in 1747, in the cookbook called "The Art of Cookery" written by Hannah Glasse. Her recipe called for pigeon rather than the contemporary sausages and was titled "pigeon in a hole". The dish appears in print as early as 1762, and soon became a common dish eaten by many. It was orignally created as a way to stretch out previously cooked meat in poor households and Chefs suggested to only use the cheapest of meats in the dish. In 1861, Mrs. Beeton listen a similar recipe calling for rump steak and lamb’s kidney. What a neat history this dish has! Whatever meat you use, it is delicious. Let us try this very old, and classic English recipe of Toad in the Hole!
