Chapter 10: The Further Adventures of Toad
Today we are reading Chapter 10 in the “Wind in the Willows” titled " The Further Adventures of Toad " where we continue the adventures of Toad. The most exciting moment is where he decides to steal a horse from a gypsy woman in his attempt to flee prison. At that time, there were many gypsies who would come and travel from village to village and they would be seen by the river doing their washing.
Discussion Ideas:
Do you think it was ok for Mr. Toad to take the horse from the woman? Why do you think he stole the horse? *Optional, pair this chapter's lesson with M for Mosaic and H for Hue from The Masterpiece Alphabet.

Supplies:
scissors, glue and paint brush
all sorts of paper in blue and green hues
paint, or markers of your choice
Use one of the printable of a horse included
Canvas board, or art paper
STEPS:
Paint your horse any color, you may like inspired by the chapter, and any additional books.
Then using any type of paper, cut or tear strips and glue them onto art paper or canvas board to create the landscape. Begin by sketching out your sky, middle ground, and foreground.
Look for blue tones for the sky and green and brown tones for the grass. Using your glue, and brush, apply your bits of ripped paper to create layers of your landscape.
Then, cut out your painted horse, and glue it on top of your beautiful collaged landscape background.
