Beekeepers of Tuscany

Today, let's be inspired by the Beekeepers of Tuscany, who care for the bees in the countryside of Livorno, Italy.

They care for the bees, on many different plots of land, in the beautiful areas between Tuscany and Liguria. This lesson goes really well with our Busy As a Bee Learning Pack!

The Bees require a natural, healthy place, near woods, or flowers. About 5000 suare feet is good. The bees help with a lot of the pollination of many tress, such as the lemon trees we learned about, and other fruit trees, however they prefer certain types of plants, which have more nectar, such as, Erica, Acacia, Chestnut, Sulla, and Sunflower. Try looking up those plants to see what they look like!
